Objecives:

Arts and cultural education are an important aspect of the five educational domains set by the Education Commission: “To enable everyone to develop his/her potential to the full according to his/her characteristics in the moral, intellectual, physical, social and aesthetic domains so that each individual is ready for continuous self-learning, thinking, exploring, innovating, and adapting to changes throughout his/her life.“

The Cultural Studies KLA provides a balanced curriculum and promotes learning opportunities in cultural, emotional, spiritual, and life skills for students to achieve the objective of whole-person education.

Aims:

The Cultural Studies Curriculum is designed to help students:

• Develop creativity, critical thinking, and communication skills, nurture aesthetic sensitivity and cultural awareness, and provide them with a foundation to develop lifelong learning skills;
• Develop literacy in various aspects of physical, arts, music, and life skills, build knowledge, and nurture positive values and attitudes in preparation for further studies or employment;
• Derive delight, joy, and satisfaction from participating in learning activities such as physical arts, music, and cooking, and build an active and healthy lifestyle;
• Nurture a lifelong interest in a variety of physical and cultural activities, and develop universal skills such as collaboration, communication, creativity, critical thinking, and aesthetics; and
• Learn how to apply knowledge of cultural studies to enhance the quality of life of individuals, families, and the wider society, and become responsible citizens who contribute to an active and healthy community.
